FAQs

Where does the name of this website come from?

It’s taken from the video game Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. One of the areas that you get to slice and dice your way through is called the Mortvia Aqueduct. I happened to like it since it was short and easy to remember. Nevertheless, it was my alternate domain name, chosen since the one I originally wanted was (and still is) available for the low, low price of $25,000.

And who are you, anyway?

I’m Jacqueline Caddle, who is surprised to find that I am one of many on the internet considering my unusual last name. I love libraries and hence currently work in one, but while earning my Masters in Library and Information Science I fell down the rabbit hole that is information architecture (I seriously think the Polar Bear book should have been the White Rabbit book.) Along the way I’ve met some Cheshire Cats, Mad Hatters, and the occasional Red Queen. I’m still navigating my way through this fascinating Wonderland.

I’m also into tech writing since I like writing in general – in addition to writing for this site, I’m also working on a ‘thrival guide’ for introverted UXers like myself.
